10 Tips For Healthy Pregnancy

August 7, 2015 by Foster Feel 2 Comments

Pregnancy is a big pleasure and if you want to enjoy it thoroughly you should be healthy. When you get pregnant you think of a healthy kid but to deliver a healthy child, mother should be healthy first (Physically and Mentally). With the love and care of family and friends it is easy to accomplish. Here are 10 tips to ease your body and mind during pregnancy:

tips

  1. Stay Happy: If you are happy inside, you will be stronger outside. “Happiness attracts good things” so if you want to welcome your child in pleasant environment STAY HAPPY. Try to explore all the excitements of trimesters and I am sure you will be happy to recall this memory in later years.
  2. Nutritious Food: There is a say “ whatever you eat will reach to your baby and so that taste will go to her mouth and because of that after her birth your child will like whatever you had during pregnancy!!!” well myth or truth I don’t know but in my case it was truth. My little one couldn’t eat orange till her 3rd birthday as I couldn’t eat oranges during the pregnancy!!! Well believe it or not it is up to you but one thing is proven that you have to take nutritious food to nourish your body and baby. As now you are feeding two lives you have to eat more and healthy. Don’t forget to add vitamins pills recommended by doctors.
  3. Increase Fluid Intake: Your body needs more than 2 litter (64 ounces) water in a day to keep you hydrated. Plus milk, juice and/or any other fluid of your choice after every two hrs of work. Try to avoid juice and coffee as caffeine is not good for your baby and juice comes with lots of sugar.
  4. Eat in Bowl: Eat small meals in regular interval especially if you have nausea, vomit or diabetes. Eat dry nuts like almonds or walnuts with your meal as they are full of protein and controls glucose level in your blood.
  5. Take Short Breaks: Tiredness in pregnancy is very common and it will go easily if you will take rest before your body demands. Try to take breaks of 10 to 15 mins from your work after every 2 hrs. During this 10 mins break either lay down or sit in a comfortable chair which supports your legs too. Small walk to free your legs is also a nice option.
  6. Avoid unnecessary medicines: Antibiotics are not for you as you are going to give a birth to new life. Cold cough headache constipation heartburn all these things will be settled down with the time and little care.  You need not to take medicines for these inconveniences. Menthol is strictly restricted not only for you but for your partner too.
  7. Little Physical Activity: Gym is of course not for you now but yes there are some light exercise which you can do in pregnancy too. So if you are fond of exercise surf the Google or YouTube and I am sure you will find your favorite option in that.Well if you are not interested in exercise, you can go for walk. Little exercise is always recommended but don’t stretch your body beyond your limit.
  8. Meditation or Relaxation Techniques: Yoga and meditation is very good choice to de-stress. There are some relaxation techniques too which will really help you to relax your body especially in contractions. Breathing is the best one.
  9. Stay Cool: Take bath in warm water, as hot water is not good for womb.  Don’t forget to pour warm water on your breasts. If possible take bath before going to bed too. You can use kid’s bed time bubble wash as it is really mild and lightly scented and thus enough to sooth your body and mind.
  10. Avoid Long Traveling: Travelling is uncomfortable as well as risky in certain conditions. Try to avoid long journey (car/bus/train/flight) especially in first and third trimester. In fact in third trimester many flights don’t allow you to travel without doctor’s written permission.
